A very good sequel to Glass Houses. Relations continue to grow and mature between the four main characters: Claire, Eve, Shane and Michael. It picks up right were the first one left off, with is guessing what happened to Michael. With Shane's father in town, chaos soon follows. we get some back history on Amelie a bit in this book (not much but a little) and we get to really see how the town is segregated and how rules work in this town. Shane gets caught up in his fathers crime and is help responsible for it. The punishment-death. His friends are desperate to save him. The books shows the cost they will pay for each other.Well done Rachel Caine! I love the character emotions and reactions. Many were very realistic. I look forward to learning more about Sam, a vampire with an interesting past to the characters...
